Resand and TechnoGuss Sign Long-Term Agreement for Electric Sand Reclaimer
Finnish technology company Resand Ltd, specializing in foundry sand regeneration and recycling, has entered a long-term cooperation agreement with German foundry TechnoGuss GmbH. The Sand As A Service (SAAS) agreement, finalized in December 2024, includes an electrically driven sand reclaimer designed to process approximately 5,000 tons of reclaimed sand per year. This service will significantly improve TechnoGuss’s sand recycling rate while reducing transportation costs and emissions.
Sustainable Sand Recycling for Modern Foundry Operations
TechnoGuss GmbH, based in Tangerhütte, Germany, is a modern custom foundry specializing in individual parts as well as small- and medium-sized series production. The company supplies all common iron casting variants, ensuring compliance with the latest industry standards.“We are delighted to begin our collaboration with Resand. There are clear benefits to this partnership, particularly in terms of cost efficiency—offering competitive pricing per ton of reclaimed sand and requiring minimal upfront investment. An additional key advantage is the price stability over the next decade. Moreover, sand reclamation supports our commitment to sustainability by reducing the ecological footprint of our foundry and enabling closed material cycles, all without reliance on fossil fuels,” says Peter Schulz, CEO of TechnoGuss GmbH.

Resand’s electric sand reclaimer is specifically designed for medium-sized foundries, with a production capacity of 1,000 kg of recovered sand per hour. Its electrically heated drive allows for easy integration with the foundry’s power supply, ensuring a constant and reliable supply of clean sand.
Resand’s innovative Resand® SAAS solution delivers significant environmental and financial benefits to foundries. By reducing the need to purchase virgin sand, minimizing waste disposal, and lowering transportation and energy costs, foundries can achieve substantial savings. Additionally, by offering sand reclamation as a service, Resand helps foundries free up capital that would otherwise be tied up in operational expenses.
Expanding Market Potential for Resand
“The escalating energy costs are driving up sand mining and transportation expenses far more than the costs of sand reclamation, which significantly enhances our global market potential. At the end of last year, we further strengthened our European presence through a partnership with CORSA3D in Italy. Now, we are thrilled to launch this long-term commercial project with TechnoGuss foundry in Germany. This is just the beginning—our vision is to revolutionize sand usage in the foundry industry on a global scale,” says Kalle Härkki, CEO of Resand Ltd.
