TREND REPORT Megacasting

The megacasting trend in automotive manufacturing, led by Tesla, is revolutionising production through the use of ever larger structural parts made from die-cast aluminium. This allows for a reduction in components, lower manufacturing costs and potentially an increase in the range of electric vehicles. While major car manufacturers such as Volvo and Toyota are following this trend, the economic viability and ecological impact remains controversial.
