Handtmann Metallguss receives the “Volkswagen Group Award 2024”
For the 20th time, Volkswagen AG has honored its best international suppliers with the “Volkswagen Group Award”. The prize is awarded to suppliers for “outstanding partnership-based cooperation, long-standing practiced values and shared success”. Among this year's winners: Handtmann Metallgusswerk.
The “Volkswagen Group Award” was presented in ten categories in 2024, reflecting the most important areas of action in VW's procurement strategy. At a ceremony in Wolfsburg, members of the Board of Management of the Group and the brands as well as sponsors of Group Procurement presented the awards to a total of ten companies selected from 40 nominees.
“The anniversary of the Volkswagen Group Award highlights the importance we place on close, partnership-based cooperation with our suppliers and underscores the esteem that goes with this. The 20th Volkswagen Group Award stands for 20 years of partnership and 20 years of shared success – a perfect combination. As we move forward, we will shape the future with our partners based on this conviction.”
As a long-standing reliable partner, Handtmann received the award in the “Transformation” category. The company was thus recognized for its exceptional performance, high innovative strength and partnership-based and transparent cooperation, which contribute to the success of Volkswagen AG. The Handtmann transformation strategy - which includes both the use of new technologies and the further development of existing expertise - impressed the jury. Particular emphasis was placed on the company's pioneering role in the field of megacasting and the associated establishment of a modern process in Germany and Europe for the optimal utilization of existing locations.
Handtmann was represented on site by Dirk Seckler, Managing Director Sales and Technical Development, Albert Handtmann Metallgusswerk GmbH & Co. KG, and Markus Handtmann, Co-Head of the Handtmann Group. He was the one who accepted the award from Gunnar Kilian, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG responsible for Human Resources and Trucks, and Till von Bothmer, Head of Group Procurement Powertrain.
“We are very proud of this award and of our employees, who have made this possible through their work and commitment in all projects with the Volkswagen Group. We deliver transformation through innovation, technology and quality. To emerge as the winner of the inaugural 'Transformation' category is a confirmation of our ambitious future path to position ourselves as a strategic development and systems partner.”
