Executive Circle No. 2: Platform for developing strategies for the future
At the invitation and initiative of NürnbergMesse, board members, decision-makers and young managers from the European die casting industry will explore opportunities for intensified cooperation at the second EUROGUSS Executive Circle. On 2-3 July, top-level decision-makers from the entire value chain will ask themselves what the die casting industry will look like not tomorrow, but the day after tomorrow – and once again with a partner who is only concerned with the future. There is still time to actively contribute to the discussion and take part in the event.
The foundation was laid at the first Executive Circle in October 2023: The community experience not only strengthened the connection within the industry, but also helped to create a shared image of the future. At the end of the event, the spirit of optimism among the participants was palpable.
Following this successful initial spark, the results of the dialogue were analysed and condensed by the renowned ZukunftsInstitut Frankfurt/Vienna. Key dimensions were identified and three scenarios developed as to how these dimensions could develop.
Key points are being developed
On 3 July 2024 in Königstein near Frankfurt, it is now time to take an even closer look at the future. The programme is currently being shaped, which should lead to concrete results. "We have developed ideas based on the feedback from the participants. We are currently working out the details together with representatives from the programme committee and the ZukunftsInstitut. As organisers, we want to support the industry in bringing the scenario analysis to life and offer a suitable platform for this," explains Christopher Boss, Head of EUROGUSS at NürnbergMesse GmbH.
Johannes Messer, a proven industry expert and consultant, explains: "We want to position aluminium die casting as a technological, innovative, cost-effective and sustainable solution. We can be a customer-oriented high-pressure die casting industry if we jointly utilise the entire know-how along the process chain. At the second Executive Circle, we want to develop the cornerstones of a joint long-term strategic orientation."
Registration for the Executive Circle
The agenda for 3 July therefore includes intensive interaction in various workshop groups. At the end of the day, the results will be discussed and shared. Prof Dr Markus Hengstschläger, Director of the Institute of Medical Genetics at the Medical University of Vienna, has been invited as keynote speaker. With his presentation entitled "Shaping the future with problem-solving skills", he will set the perfect tone for the day.
The Executive Circle starts the evening before with an event. There, the focus will be on informal dialogue, building new contacts and networking in the inspiring landscape of the Taunus, hopefully in summery weather.
The Executive Circle is intended for C-level and decision-makers as well as a limited number of young managers. Registrations are still possible here.
Company representatives can register young talents from their own company and bring them along to the event.
"Beacon of innovation and quality"
The starting point for the discussions at the next Executive Circle is the scenario analysis by the ZukunftsInstitut, which was presented to the Executive Circle participants at the last EUROGUSS. The analysis outlined three scenarios.
In the most favourable scenario, European die casting could have developed within a few years on the basis of a strong network into an industry that is recognised for its superior technology and effectively exploits its growth opportunities beyond the automotive sector. It could become a "beacon of innovation and quality" and a model for other industries "that shows how to navigate successfully into the future", according to the ZukunftsInstitut's scenario analysis entitled "Cast your future".
Christopher Boss: "The integration of current trends and megatrends creates orientation and strategic clarity in order to paint a clear picture of the future and set the course for a future-proof development of the European die casting industry. This creates a big picture that can be used to develop tangible strategies and measures that will enable the companies involved to successfully shape the future."
