Tenth Zinc Die Casting Prize: the winners have been announced
The Zinc Die Casting Prize has been awarded for the tenth time. Under the motto “Showing what zinc die casting can do”, the ZINK initiative honored the best zinc die casting projects at the Foundry Colloquium at Aalen University on May 16.
The competition saw a high level of participation, with entries from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Over 10 percent of German zinc die casting companies took part with their castings. A jury of experts from the fields of alloy production, casting machine construction, science and materials research as well as trade associations evaluated the submissions according to design, complexity, degree of production, innovation potential and sustainability.
Aim of the competition
The competition aims to highlight the versatility and outstanding properties of zinc die-cast products as well as the efficiency of foundries. The tried-and-tested concept and the high level of response continue to generate new products that illustrate the diverse and sustainable use of zinc.
